Bolhão is the most important market of Porto. Built in 1850, it has a beautiful neo-classical style, and was classified as a building of public interest in February 2006. In the market you can find all sort of fresh products, but also meet the sellers who hold the true spirit of Porto’s locals.
Note: The Mercado do Bolhão building is closed for renovation works. However, the temporary Bolhão Market was created, located 2 minutes away from the old market. With more than 5,000 square meters, the Temporary Market has direct access from the street, in front of the Bolhão Metro Station, as well as from inside the La Vie Porto Baixa Shopping Center, with escalators, elevators and direct connection through the parking lot.
